The hands are known to tell more honest stories about what a person has been through than faces. In this series of photographs, the hands represent a person’s coming of age story; at first, we begin our lives plain and unblemished. As we aspire to move forward in life and all our safety nets are lifted, we become unprotected to our desires, people’s cruelty and life’s temptations. The painted hand represents all the trials that we have to face and overcome to not walk astray from our beliefs and principles. As we let our principles loose, we fail the test, and this is where the hands meet. Finally, we become infected and lose our principles to attain the ever unattainable; achievement.
